Communications Director - Lina Scalfino

Lina Scalfino was born in Torella dei Lombardi Provincia Avellino and emigrated to Australia when four years old. She has remained very much connected to her country of birth and has visited regularly taking the opportunity to study Italian Language and Culture at the University in Perugia. She has a love of all things Italian including music, particularly classical and traditional , exploring regional food and literature. Lina has dedicated her professional life as an educator for the last forty years in various roles within the Education Department of South Australia including promoting the teaching of languages, particularly Italian. Her contribution to Education has focused on leadership within school in the areas of curriculum development, school improvement and languages including English as a second language. Three years ago Lina became involved in Radio Italiana 531 whilst co conducting the External Review of Radio Italiana. She was invited on the committee as a co-opted member participating in the Sub-Committee of Programs, Special Programs Events and the Volunteer Consultative Committee.
